Make your call on the US jobs figure
Think you’ve got a read on the US jobs market? Put your NFP forecast to the test. Predict how many jobs the US economy added or lost last month, and see how close you get to the reported figure. Eligible participants have a chance to win up to $500.
The monthly jobs figure is a major event for traders watching US dollar pairs, gold and stock indices. What matters to markets is how the result compares with expectations. Make your prediction before the report lands, then follow the result and the market reaction.
How the NFP Predictor works
Forecast the monthly change in US nonfarm payrolls for the upcoming month, based on the first report, before any later revisions.
Predict how many jobs the US added or lost. Enter one whole-number forecast by the monthly deadline, including your Tickmill account email.
We’ll compare your forecast with the first US jobs figure published for the month. Later revisions won’t change the competition result.
An exact eligible forecast wins $500. Otherwise, the three closest win $250, $150 and $100. Prize and tie rules apply. All winners are announced on our Facebook page.

During the entry period, submit one whole-number prediction for the monthly change in US nonfarm payrolls through the entry form, using the email address registered to your account. Entries close at the Friday of the NFP release at 15:00 GMT+3.
The first published data stating the monthly change in US total nonfarm payroll employment, as reported by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Enter a positive number if you expect jobs to have been added, or a negative number if you expect a fall.
We measure the difference between each eligible prediction and the first published figure. The three closest eligible predictions receive $250, $150 and $100, unless an exact prediction triggers the $500 prize.
If entries are tied, the earlier prediction(s) are given precedence. Later revisions to the jobs data do not affect the result.
Winners will be announced on our Facebook page the Monday after the NFP release, which usually takes place on the first Friday of each month. Winners will also be contacted by email within 3 working days.
Prizes are credited to winners’ Tickmill wallets as withdrawable bonuses. To withdraw a prize, you must trade at least one standard lot for every $3 awarded in the eligible instruments listed in the official rules. For example, a $150 prize requires 50 qualifying lots.

Join the contest“NFP Predictor Competition” (hereby referred to as “Competition”) is available only to new and existing clients of Tickmill Ltd, who have a live trading account (hereby referred to as “Participants”).
The Contest started on May 30, 2016, at 00:00 (MT4/MT5 server time) and has no set end date, unless Tickmill determines otherwise.
The Contest takes place on the Woobox platform and is announced on Tickmill’s official Facebook page during the first week of every month.
To participate, entrants must submit their prediction of the exact monthly change in U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) before the official release of that month's NFP report. Competition results will be determined based on the initial published NFP figure. Any revisions, updates, or adjustments made to the NFP data after the initial release shall not be considered for the purposes of this competition.
Participants must submit their prediction and email address linked to their Tickmill account by Friday 15:00 MT4/MT5 server time (GMT+3) during the week of the NFP report release.
Only one prediction per participant is allowed. If multiple predictions are submitted, only the latest one will be considered.
The participant(s) who guess the exact number of jobs added or lost based on the latest NFP release (e.g. 29,000 or –25,000) will receive a $500 cash prize credited to their wallet.
If no participant guesses the exact number, the 3 participants with the closest predictions will receive the following cash prizes credited to their wallets:
1st place: $250
2nd place: $150
3rd place: $100
If there is more than one participant with the same closest prediction, the prize will be awarded to the participant who submitted their prediction first.
A participant may win only one cash prize per calendar year but may continue to participate in each monthly Competition. If a participant who has already won a cash prize in the same calendar year wins again, the prize will be awarded to the eligible participant with the next closest prediction.
The winners will be announced on our Facebook page the Monday after the NFP release, which usually takes place on the first Friday of each month.
The top prize winner of each month (either the $500 or the $250 winner, if no one guesses the exact price) agrees that their name will be posted on the winners' board on this Competition’s webpage.
The winners will be contacted via the email used to register with Tickmill within 3 calendar days from the date of the winner announcement.
The prize is credited to the winners’ wallets as a withdrawable bonus.
